Integra NeuroSciences Launches New Non-Stick Bipolar Forceps

PLAINSBORO, N.J., Oct. 11, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Integra LifeSciences Holdings Corporation (Nasdaq:IART) today announced that it will market and sell the Integra BUZZ™ non-stick bipolar forceps. Bipolar forceps are an essential part of neurosurgery. The Integra BUZZ™ non-stick forceps, which are fully compatible with most standard electrosurgical generators, prevent tissue from sticking to forceps tips while still coagulating delicate structures in fine detail. The forceps come in a variety of length and tip sizes and can be used for most neurosurgical procedures.

"During delicate electrosurgery, unwanted tissue adhesion can slow down the surgeon and put patients at risk," said Deborah Leonetti, Integra's Senior Vice President of Marketing. "We developed the Integra BUZZ™ non-stick bipolar forceps to address this issue, providing surgeons with a safer way to stop the start-stick-stop that can occur in electrosurgery. The introduction of this product provides an example of Integra's ability to respond to the needs of surgeons."

The Integra BUZZ™ non-stick bipolar forceps will be sold by the Integra NeuroSciences™ sales organization. Integra NeuroSciences is a leading provider of implants, devices, instruments, and systems used in neurosurgery, neuromonitoring, neuro-trauma, and related critical care. Integra NeuroSciences' direct selling effort in the United States and Europe currently involves more than 130 professionals.
